2012 Mastodon Season Comes To A Close

Practice was unable to be held today and with that, the 2012 Mastodon season will end. We planned to keep going, but a lot of factors deterred that. No need to worry Mastodites! This site and the other three will still be up and functioning throughout the offseason. We have plenty of fun stuff planned this winter to keep the fans into it! There will be awards, recaps, and much more. It's going to be a good offseason. Mastodons resume play on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Keep coming back to the site until then! Mastodon Might!

No Practice This Weekend

It's the owner's father's birthday and the general manager's niece has been born. Along with many other prior requirements from the players, practice will just not take place this week.

Player of the Week: 10/8 - 10/15

It was a close battle for this week's honors, but Alex Bahnan has pulled out! Don't think that this was only because there were four players playing. He earned it! He had an 82% completion percentage while throwing for 2 touchdowns over 167 yards. His quarterback rating was an astounding 128.5! He also rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, caught three passes, kicked three extra points, and recorded fourteen tackles. One of those tackles forced a fumble! Very nice game for Alex to earn himself the Player of the Week honors!

Player of the Week 10/1 - 10/8

Joe was a beast this week! He really got it done! Over the course of two scrimmages, Joe rushed for 134 yards and had 141 yards on returns along with two touchdowns. That's only the beginning! As a receiver, Joe had 510 yards over 34 receptions. He caught seven touchdowns! On defense, Joe was an animal. 59 tackles! 4 sacks! He was in on 15 fumbles AND showcased 4 touchdowns on D! That's a total of 13 touchdowns this week. Nice job, Joe!

Mastodon Theme Song

Here's the story of the Mastodon theme song poll. All I Do Is Win and I Am A Paleontologist both landed one vote. My Way was a dark horse and put together three votes. In the final minutes, Remember the Name trailed by one vote and they got it. And then some. I thought that Remember the Name had defeated It's Time by a vote, but apparently you have to manually remove each poll. This led to It's Time scrapping one more vote. A total of 17 votes were cast. More than is on the team, so our fan base is growing. But, it's a tie. What do I do now?

Great Practice Today!

I forgot to alert the website that there was a practice today. It was very awesome and high-scoring. Joe's little brother, Anthony even joined in on the fun. He rushed for two touchdowns! The final score may have been 102-27 in favor of Joe, Alex, and Dave, but it was a great practice. The field was slipper and Alex Bahnan slipped many times. One even in Charlie Brown like fashion. We're geared up for our first game this Sunday. Stats, and Player of the Week to come.

This Is Big

We're going to aim for two practices for this long weekend. But there's something big happening. We have our first scrimmage against a different team. A makeshift squad wants to play us. We are capable of winning, but we have to prepare. Let's go!
